1. Acceptance of Terms
By downloading, installing, or using CalcLok ("the App"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the App.
2. Description of Service
CalcLok is a private vault application for Android and desktop that allows users to securely store and protect photos, videos, notes, passwords, audio, contacts, and other private content behind encrypted, disguised access.
3. Eligibility
You must be at least 13 years of age to use CalcLok. By using the App, you represent that you meet this age requirement. If you are under 18, you should review these Terms with a parent or guardian.
4. Account and Access
CalcLok does not require an account to use. Access to your vault is controlled by your chosen access code and optional biometric authentication. You are solely responsible for maintaining the secrecy of your access code.
We cannot recover your vault data if you forget your access code. There is no "forgot password" feature due to the zero-knowledge encryption design.
5. Subscriptions and Payments
Google Play purchases: Subscriptions purchased through Google Play are governed by Google Play's terms of service. Billing, renewals, and cancellations are managed through your Google Play account.
Cryptocurrency purchases: License keys purchased with cryptocurrency through our website are non-refundable due to the irreversible nature of cryptocurrency transactions. License keys are delivered immediately after payment confirmation.
Free tier: CalcLok offers a free tier with limited vault capacity (50 items) and a 7-day premium trial for new users.
6. License Keys
License keys purchased through the CalcLok website may be activated on up to 3 devices simultaneously. You may deactivate a device at any time to free up an activation slot. License keys are personal and non-transferable.
- Lifetime licenses: Valid for the lifetime of the product with no expiration.
- Annual licenses: Valid for one year from the date of activation. Access reverts to the free tier upon expiration.
7. Premium Features
Premium features include but are not limited to: unlimited vault items, multiple vaults, decoy vault, cloud backup, WiFi transfer, custom app icons, all disguise identities, encrypted contacts, and audio vault. The specific features included in premium may change over time as we improve the App.
8. Acceptable Use
You agree to use CalcLok only for lawful purposes. You may not use the App to:
- Store, distribute, or facilitate the distribution of illegal content
- Violate any applicable local, national, or international law
- Circumvent, disable, or interfere with security features of the App
- Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the App
- Share, resell, or redistribute license keys
- Use automated means to interact with the licensing system
9. Intellectual Property
CalcLok and all related trademarks, logos, and content are the property of CalcLok. The App is licensed to you, not sold. You receive a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the App in accordance with these Terms.
10. User Content
You retain all rights to content you store in CalcLok. We do not claim any ownership of your vault data. Since your content is encrypted on your device, we have no access to it and bear no responsibility for its nature or legality.
11. Data and Encryption
CalcLok uses AES-256-GCM encryption to protect your vault content. Encryption is performed locally on your device. We operate on a zero-knowledge basis — we cannot access, decrypt, or recover your vault data under any circumstances.
12. Cloud Backup
If you use the cloud backup feature, your encrypted data is stored in your personal Google Drive account. We are not responsible for the availability or security of Google Drive. You are responsible for maintaining access to your Google account.
13. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, CalcLok and its developers shall not be liable for:
- Loss of data due to forgotten access codes, device failure, or uninstallation
- Unauthorized access to your device or vault by third parties
- Any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages
- Interruption of service or loss of access to premium features
The App is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied.
14. Disclaimer of Warranties
We do not warrant that the App will be uninterrupted, error-free, or completely secure. While we use strong encryption and security practices, no system is perfectly secure. You use the App at your own risk.
15. License Revocation
We reserve the right to revoke license keys that are found to be shared, resold, or obtained fraudulently. In the event of revocation, premium features will revert to the free tier. We will make reasonable efforts to contact you before revocation.
16. Offline Grace Period
License validation requires periodic internet connectivity. The App provides a 30-day offline grace period during which premium features remain active without internet access. After 30 days without successful validation, premium features may be suspended until connectivity is restored.
17. Modifications to the Service
We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the App at any time. We will make reasonable efforts to notify users of significant changes. Lifetime license holders will continue to have access to the version of the App available at the time of any discontinuation.
18. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated effective date. Continued use of CalcLok after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
19. Governing Law
These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with applicable law. Any disputes arising from these Terms shall be resolved through good-faith negotiation before pursuing formal legal action.
